The Salgueiral da Galiza Walking Trail is worthwhile due to the quality of its habitats and the rarity of the landscape that constitutes them.
It is a circular route around 1,900-m long, easy, with part on a dirt track and part on a wooden walkway.
The path may be entered via a gate located next to the Furo da Gailza, which belongs to the company Águas de Santo André.
It is open to the public on Wednesdays, from 9.30am to 12.00pm and from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm, and on Saturdays from 9.30 am to 12.00 pm, with free entry.
Guided tours given by Nature Reserve rangers must be arranged in advance using the telephone number 269708400, and there is a charge per visit.
We recommend the use of walking shoes/boots/training shoes, a hat and mosquito repellent.
